Kāti Kurī
Kāti Kurī is one of the prominent 'old' hapū that many Kāi Tahu descend from today. The progenitor, Kurī, may be estimated as being born in 1585 CE – a grandson of the esteemed ancestor Rakawakakura and also cousin to Tūhaitara.
To track backwards to Tahupōtiki's Y-DNA haplogroup, this is a known lineage that one would want to follow.
